Learning is a lifelong journey with the needs changing based on where you or your student is in the journey.  Whether in middle or high school, transitioning to college life or are out in the “real world” working, I provide the support needed so those with gifted and neurodiverse learning profiles can successfully navigate the stage of life they are in.

What stage are you or your learner in and what coaching need best suits you?

Academic and Executive Functioning Guidance for Middle and High School Students

From reading and arithmetic to challenges with executive functioning, I work with students to help them succeed academically as well as with the world around them.

Academics

I use individualized, developmentally appropriate strategies allowing your student to learn how to reframe their concept of learning and studying, specifically with reading and/or writing.

Reading: Teaching reading is an art and a science. Research evidence tells us that direct instruction in decoding the English language enables greater access and fluency in reading which leads to greater comprehension. Using the Orton-Gillingham approach, students will begin to enjoy reading and will be motivated to learn. Students will be guided through the different levels of thinking to learn to analyze, evaluate, and create knowledge.

Writing: Writing is a multi-faceted skill that demands many sub-skills like working memory, orthographic ability, organization and planning, and word recall. It requires the writer to have fluency in switching back and forth between seeing the big picture and the details within it. Your student will understand the nature of writing, identify strengths and further areas to strengthen, and use strategies that result in a product high in quality and pride.

Executive Functioning

I also provide executive functioning coaching. As your student progresses through their academic journey, we’ll work together to cultivate executive functioning skills, so they gain awareness and use them to develop their sense of belonging to the world around them, whether they are in middle school, high school or transitioning to college.

In fact, young adults transitioning to college need to manage effortful control and executive functioning skills to succeed in higher education. My 8-week program introduces the young adult to the skills of awareness, reframing, resourcing, and problem-solving within the college setting.

I also work closely with your child’s school to help promote student engagement and love for learning.

And I work closely with you - the parent - and provide tools and communication to ensure the work is extended to the home.

Post High School Transitions / Transitioning to College

The transition from high school to college is tough for any student, but even more so for neurodiverse students. The educational services I provide are designed to support students with learning, attentional, neurological or mental health-related challenges that allow them to succeed and thrive in their new learning environment.

I use an empowerment integrative approach focused on the whole person and grounded in contemporary research from the fields of education, psychology and interpersonal neurobiology and can be accessed individually or together with a group of peers also embarking on their college journey.

I also provide parent coaching and support individually tailored to your family’s unique needs to foster your child’s success in school and beyond.

Burnout Prevention + Resiliency Coaching for Working Professionals

Burnout is real and something we’ve all experienced, to one degree or another. When ignored, it can impact professional functionality, mental health and physical health. By addressing the stressors and accepting help, you can learn to develop resiliency in the workplace and live a healthier, happier life.

I use the Skylyte method of coaching, which focuses on the direct link between mental health and professional outcome. Together we’ll work on your journey to develop more positive mindsets and healthier behaviors in the workplace to tackle burnout and become more resilient.

In the end, you will have the knowledge to:

  • Understand the signs of burnout.

  • Stop burnout. It can be prevented.

  • Use self-awareness to put the puzzle pieces together.

  • Take time to rest and rejuvenate.

  • Increase your agency.

  • Collaborate with others.

  • Walk your talk.

  • Explore with curiosity and care.

  • Select an action that is 15% out of your comfort zone.

  • Cultivate resilience - you’re worth it.
